Car hire in Juba South Sudan.
We provide self drive and with driver car rental from our rental location in Juba South Sudan.
South Sudan is the youngest country in the world after obtaining independence from their Arab neighbours in the North-Khartoum Sudan in July 2011. South Sudan is a country that held so much promise after the protracted wars that ravaged through this oil rich nation. We opened our Juba car rental station in late 2011 shortly after independence. Business was pretty good for a while and we served a high number of both self drive and with driver rental clients who were flocking into Juba to witness first hand the birth of a new nation and explore raw South Sudan, it’s rich traditions and cultures of the Mundari and Dinka tribes, the wildlife prolific Boma National Park home of perhaps the largest or 2nd largest animal migration behind the Serengeti, Bandingilo National Park and Nimule National Park in the south.
South Sudan is composed of 10 states and is probably the most diverse country in Africa making it a must visit destination when it is safe and secure to do so either on a self drive tour or preferably on a guided tour on one of our signature South Sudan safaris. South Sudan is home to over 60 different major ethnic groups each with varying cultures and traditions. At the moment we only recommend travel within Juba and on the outskirts of Juba and perhaps at a push down south to Nimule National Park and Kidepo Game reserve. Even them self drive may not be a great idea. We have also recently started with driver rentals into the Mundari tribes for clients willing to take the risk of travel to those areas.
South Sudan’s Juba is now buzzing with NGOs and 4wd vehicles of astute business people seeking opportunities in Oil, exploration etc. A few years ago luxury 4x4 vehicles only had NGO and UN occupants but 4x4 numbers have now swelled with the oil money flowing and South Sudanes have begun rolling out their own 4x4s including Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Toyota Land Cruiser V8s, the fuel guzzling Nissan Patrols common in Dubai and Abu Dhabi or the hardtop UN type Toyota Land Cruiser 4x4s. Hire a 4wd vehicle with driver in Juba and explore South Sudan’s young capital when you are on business here or a tour of Juba city.
If you have at least 4 days on your visit to Juba, then we can arrange a guided and guarded trip to Nimule National Park. In the first instance we would need to arrange for you an entry permit which costs US$60. The drive to Nimule Park is done in a convoy for security reasons with National security. The convoy starts at 10am till around 1pm and the same for the return to Juba. After that you are not allowed to access the road. On the day of arrival to Juba day one, you will arrive you will need to process the park entry permit and photo permit. Photo permit costs US$300. This has to be done in person because your photo needs to be taken prior to being issued with the permit. Then on the second day you join the convoy to travel to Nimule park. Arrival at Nimule is anticipated at 1pm. In the evening you have a chance to do an evening game drive. Day three, you can do very early morning game drive before you leave with the convoy back to Juba. On arrival to Juba you may do a Juba city tour.
For those brave enough to risk visiting the Mundari tribe areas, we do offer guided tours to the Mundari. The journey to Mundari from Juba takes 8 hours. We will need clearance from National security the day you arrive. So if you need a whole day in Mundari, we will need 2 days for travel to and from and one day in Mundari.
Day 1: Arrival, and clearance from National Security.
Day 2 Travel to Mundari from Juba ( 8 – 9 hours).
Day 3 Spend the day in Mundari.
Day 4Travel from Mundari to Juba
.We have to pay for clearance from National security which will cost US$1400
We also have to get you a travel permit which is US$60 and photo permit of US$300
Total cost is US$ 3,000, includes National security clearance fees, 4x4 Land Cruiser hardtop, fuel, driver and travel permit, excludes accommodation.

We have 4x4 car hire locations in Juba and if preferred we arrange road transfers from Entebbe airport in Uganda and drive up north all the way to Juba giving you a chance to explore Northern Uganda and Southern Sudan.

Kenya is famed for the annual wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara. The migration brings to both Kenya and Tanzania a great number of visitors seeking to witness this wonder of the world.
The annual Wildebeest Migration in the Maasai Mara is a natural cycle that replenishes and renews the grasslands of the Maasai Mara of Kenya and the Serengeti of Tanzania.
The wildebeest migration experience in Kenya is an experience of a lifetime because of the rare experience of the sights and sounds of the herds as they partake in the migration exercise. Each year without fail, the herds gather at the banks of the Mara River in preparation for inarguably the most dangerous part of their journey, crossing of the Mara River as they migrate from the Serengeti of Tanzania into the Maasai Mara of Kenya with the Mara River having to be crossed in between this journey. The herds are finally forced to lunge into the Mara River. Many of the animals get swept away by the strong current of the river as they attempt to cross over to the Mara, only to land in the hands of the waiting crocodiles who each year await their turn to feast on the drowning herds. By September most of the herds will have crossed over to the Maasai Mara and will start grazing in the Mara until October when they sadly have to head southwards to the Serengeti again in search of the replenished plains on the other side.
The great wildebeest migration can be witnessed on early morning game drives in yours self drive vehicle or customized vehicles safari vehicles with pop up roofs, walking safaris with Maasai guides, horseback safaris in areas surrounding the Mara, or even from hot air Balloon safari over the herds. We invite you to our magical Kenya and be here and witness the spectacle.
